Zoinks! - Popular exclamation of surprise or fear spoken by Shaggy
(Voice of Casey Kasem), a cowardly, always-hungry beatnik-like teenager
first seen in the cartoon series SCOOBY DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?/CBS/1969-72.
Shaggy a.k.a. "Norville Rogers", or "Shagster" belongs to a group of ghost
busters who travel the country in a van ["The Mystery Machine"] and
investigate eerie, supernatural events. Shaggy's catchphrases are "Zoinks!",
"Like, wow!", "Man, oh, man," "Here we go again!" and "Scooby Doo, where
are you?"
The Scooby Gang included:
- Fred "Freddie" Jones, the calm, confident leader of the gang. His
catchphrases are: "Let's split up, gang!" "I've got a plan..." and "That
wraps up another mystery."
- Daphne Blake, who always finds herself the damsel in
distress. She likes to say "Would you do it for a Scooby snack?" and
"Help!"
- Dace Dinkley, the brains of the outfit, who wears
glasses and has a penchant for interpreting clues and solving the
mysteries. Her catchphrases include
"Jinkies," "I found a clue," "I've lost my glasses! I can't see without my
glasses!"
- Scooby-Doo, a.k.a. "Scoobert" or "Scoob"
a cowardly Great Dane who likes Scooby snacks and is guaranteed to run at
the first sign of anything spooky. He speaks a "ruff" form of English. His
catchphrases include "Ruh-roh (uh-oh)," "Rooby Rack (Scooby Snack)?" "Hee
he he he he he he!" (laughing), "Raggy" (Shaggy), "Reah (yeah)", "Relp!
(help!)" and "Scooby Dooby Doo!" (cry of joy) See also -
