Side/West Side - When actor George C. Scott starred as social worker Neil
Brock on the short-lived social drama EAST SIDE / WEST SIDE/CBS/1963-64 he voiced
concern about the many censorship attempts placed on the program. He was angered
at the elimination of a dance scene between himself and a black woman, as well
as the unrealistic language and watered-down stories about "the System" written
so as not to offend the sensibilities of the viewing public.
