SUMMERS, Buffy Anne
(Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
1630 Revello Drive near Hadley
Sunnydale, CA (pop. 30,000)
Buffy is a teenager. She is blond, perky
with green eyes and destined by fate to
become a Slayer, a killer of demons. Born in
January 1981 to Hank and Joyce Summers,
Buffy originally attended Hemery High School
in Los Angeles as a cheerleader, Fiesta
Queen and Prom Queen. Buffy likes cheese and
has a cuddly, stuffed pig named Mr. Gordo. |

Buffy Summers |
On her 16th birthday Buffy met a man named
Merrick who informed Buffy that she was the
“Chosen One, The Vampire Slayer.” Buffy soon
realized the man told the truth and she began
training to slay vampires and other assorted
demons. Her enthusiasm got her high school
gymnasium burned to the ground, her watcher
mentor killed, and earned Buffy a one way trip
out of town.
Relocating to Sunnydale with her recently
divorced mother Joyce [who opened an art
gallery] Buffy enrolled as a sophomore at
Sunnydale High. Unfortunately, Sunnydale rested
on the center of a mystical convergence called "Hellmouth,"
which is an evil supernatural portal between
this reality and the next that attracts all
sorts of demonic undesirables. But fortunately,
for Sunnydale, Buffy is a “Slayer” a person
appointed by fate to battle evil.
With the
assistance of her new Watcher, high school
librarian
Rupert Giles, Buffy
battled to save the residence of Sunnydale from
a variety of blood-sucking creepy-crawlies. She
dispatched the demons with karate kicks and
mortal stabs with wooden stakes.

Dawn Summers
("The Key") |
Buffy’s high school friends [dubbed the “Scooby
Gang” and “The Slayerettes”] all hangout at a
club called The Bronze [a local watering hole
for demons and such]. They included:
- Willow
Rosenberg, Buffy’s shy best friend and computer
nerd
- Cordelia Chase, the sexy BGOC [Big Girl on
Campus]
- Alexander “Xander” Harris, who had a
crush on Buffy and later on Cordelia]
- Oz, a
musician who fell for Willow [Yipes! but he’s a
werewolf]
- Anya, a reformed vengeance demon and Xander's
girlfriend
- Tara, an aspiring Wicca witch and Willow's
eventual lover.
Buffy’s enemies included:
- A sadistic
vampire with a British accent named Spike
- The
Master, an evil demon who tried to open the Hellmouth
portal and destroy the world of the humans
[Buffy busted that plan];
- Angel, a vampire once under the Master’s
control who turned good and fell in love
with Buffy [she fell for him, too]
- Drusilla, Spike’s nasty girlfriend
- Faith, a Slayer gone bad
- Mayor Richard Wilkins III, [a demon in
disguise] whom Buffy destroyed at her
graduation ceremony when Wilkins turned into
a giant serpent].
After all
this excitement Buffy and Willow transferred to
The University of California at Sunnydale where
they lived at Anderson Hall [Room 214]. But
despite their climb up the academic ladder, they
couldn’t keep the demons from climbing up after
them.
Buffy’s mother, Joyce supported her daughter’s
vocation but still worried about her. Joyce’s
love life since her divorce from Hank included a
guy named Ted who turned out to be a
mass-murdering psycho robot; and a quick affair
with Giles the librarian after eating enchanted
candy that made both of them act like randy
teenagers.
Sadly, Joyce [born 1958], died on
February 21, 2001 from an aneurysm resulting
from her brain tumor surgery [low grade glioma].
Just before her mom died, Buffy learned she had
a bratty 15-year-old sister named Dawn who in
reality was an orb of pure energy called “The
Key” put under Buffy’s protection. A veiling
spell convinced Buffy and her mom that Dawn was
human and a member of their family. Only the
mentally ill and certain animals could see
Dawn’s true form.
Meanwhile, Reilly Finn, a member of an elite
black ops demon fighting group called “The
Initiative” was Buffy’s new boyfriend until he
left town on assignment.

The Many Loves of
Buffy |
Buffy’s greatest challenge was a hell-god named
Gloriface [a.k.a. “Glory”] who wanted to kill
Dawn and bring forth hell on earth. After
defeating Gloria, Buffy sacrificed her life to
close the riff between dimensions. Buffy's grave
stone read: "Buffy Anne Summers 1981-2001.
Devoted Sister. Devoted Friend. She Save The
World A Lot."
Shortly, after Buffy died, her
friend Willow cast a resurrection spell and
brought Buffy back to life. Buffy didn't
appreciate being brought back from the dead,
however. Now that she was back among the living,
Buffy had taken on some bad habits like wanting
to have hot, steamy sex [against her better
judgment] with Spike the vampire.
When Buffy
discovered that Reilly Finn had gotten married,
she broke up with Spike. She realized she was
being weak and selfish by using him.
In the fall of 2002, Sunnydale High School
reopened and Buffy took a job as a counselor to
help trouble teens. She meets Robin Wood, the
new Principal who reveals that his mother Nikki
Wood was a Slayer and that she was killed by
Spike in the 1970s.
Buffy also learns from Giles
that 'The First Evil' is killing off the line of
slayers to reopen The Hellmouth. So, with the
help of Giles and the Scooby Gang, Buffy helps
train a new line of potential Slayers to help
battle the upcoming Armageddon.
To learn more about her roots, Buffy used a bag
containing personal items belonging to slain
Slayer Nikki Woods to open a time portal and
travels back in time to meet the First Slayer
and its creators. Wow! How's that for some
vacation plans? Ah, such is the life of a
Slayer.
