*(Rob Reiner) Joseph Bresner, a Lithuanian immigrant who came to America at the
turn of the century with his wife, Anna (Judy Kahan). The series reflected via
flashbacks on the struggles of this couple when they lived in the Lower East
Side of New York City in the early 1900s. At the opening of each program Rob
Reiner made up to look like an 89-year-old, Joseph Bresner, reminiscing about
his first days in America. Their neighbors included Fred McCarren and Renee
Lippin as Sidney and Ida Gewertzman; Larry Gleman as Leo Gold.

THE THREE STOOGES - Moe Howard, Shemp Howard and Jerome “Curly” Howard
formed the core of the famous Three Stooges” comedy troupe that starred in over
200 film shorts. The Howard family (changed from “Horowitz“) emigrated from
Lithuania.
