Group of lower-class youths from Walker Ridge
High School in 1966 Tulsa, Oklahoma who occasionally had run-ins with
affluent kids called the "Socs" (short

who was coming of age; and Ponyboy Curtis (Jay
R. Ferguson), an aspiring 15-year-old writer. Ponyboy Curtis provides the narration for
the series.
Other Greaser friends included Tim Shepherd
(Robert Rusler), Two-Bit Matthews (David
Arquette), and Steve Randle (Harold Pruett).
The Greasers hangout was a gas station/bar owned
by Buck Merrill (Billy Bob Thornton).
TRIVIA NOTE: The series
is based on the 1983
