William Boyd and Topper the Horse - HOPALONG CASSIDY

Topper was ridden by western cowboy star William Boyd when he starred in the 1930s Hopalong Cassidy movies and TV series based on the stories written by Clarence E. Mulford in 1904.

Boyd purchased Topper in 1937 for the "Hoppy" movies. Boyd's new wife, Grace Bradley Boyd named the horse "Topper" after her favorite character in a series of ghost stories written by Thorne Smith.
