Topper - Arabian white stallion with black
ears featured in sixty-six western movies from 1935-48; the western adventure HOPALONG CASSIDY/SYN/1948-51/NBC/1952-54 and numerous circus, parades and public
appearances through the 1950s.
 Topper was ridden by western cowboy star William Boyd when he
starred in the 1930s Hopalong Cassidy movies and TV series based on the
stories written by Clarence E. Mulford in 1904.
Boyd purchased Topper in 1937 for the
"Hoppy" movies.
Boyd's new wife, Grace Bradley Boyd named the horse "Topper" after her favorite
character in a series of
ghost stories written by Thorne Smith.
