Ice Princess - Large diamond featured
in the continuing storyline during the 1981 season of the daytime
soap opera GENERAL HOSPITAL/ABC/1963+.
At the base of the Ice Princess (a huge uncut diamond painted
black) was a secret formula for the manufacture of synthetic
diamonds created by noted scientist James Duvall (Arthur Roberts).
This same formula could also create a deadly weather machine
capable of producing a substance called carbonic snow that could
wreak havoc on the planet's atmosphere.
Mad scientist Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos) stole the diamond
with the help of Alexandria Quartermaine (Renee Anderson), built a
weather machine and then sent a deep-freeze to the New York town of
Port Charles to demonstrate the untold power of his deadly device.
Mikkos' plan to be "in supreme command" of the entire world was
foiled, however, [Mikkos fell to his death in a freezing chamber]
when World Security Bureau agent Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers)
with the help of Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis)
cracked the master code for the weather machine
[I-C-E-P-R-I-N-C-E-S-S] and saved the world.
