The gaming phenomenon that is World of Warcraft is well over 17 years old and it is still going strong. IT is a scenario unheard of in the video game industry and another title is yet to surpass this longevity or even come close to it.
WoW was a truly revolutionizing title when Blizzard Entertainment first released it in the now-ancient 2004. Now in its eighth major expansion, Shadowlands, it has its fair share of challenges and the community is not afraid to express their disagreement and dissatisfaction related to the content and where the game is going. Still, WoW again has millions of registered monthly players and it remains one of the most engaging and rich MMORPGs on the market.
New Players and Raiding
The best thing about the current iteration of the live game is how much it cares for the new players and the absolute newcomers to the world of massively multiplayer online role-playing genre of games. Over the course of almost two decades there has been so much added to the original game. Those who want to try it how it was back then can play WoW Classic, but most people still opt for the new content and choose Shadowlands.
The new leveling revamp and so many other changes have made the game friendlier towards beginners, but the core elements are still somewhat unforgiving and require lots of experience and hard work to be good at.
This is especially true for the Player Versus Environment part of the endgame content so in this article we talk about the hardest WoW Shadowlands raids for beginners. Raiding is the epitome of things to do in an online game as you come together with other players to beat epic bosses where everyone needs to do their part and be wary of the surroundings and boss mechanics.
It is definitely not easy and beginners tend to struggle with it mightily. Not every raid is hard, but the hardest of the bunch are always those that are the newest in an expansion. Let us now check out the hardest WoW Shadowlands raids for beginners.
Raids in Shadowlands
The current expansion only has two raids so far. Castle Nathria and Sanctum of Domination are the lone raids you can enter with your fellow faction players and beat the bosses on multiple difficulties. Both 10-man and 25-man instances are of course available.
The absolute beginners will surely struggle especially without proper help from other players who know what they are doing. There are also special services that you can get and finish the raids properly a first few times before you learn the ropes. This is called bosting and it is quite useful. 1. Castle Nathria
The first raid is a fun attack on Sire Denathrius in his main HQ, the giant castle that dominates the zone of Revendreth. There are 10 bosses waiting the players inside. The most optimal boss order in which they are usually beaten is as follows: Shriekwing, Huntsman Altimor, Hungering Destroyer, Artificer Xy’Mox, Sun Kin’s Salvation, Lady Inerva Darkvein, The Council of Blood, Sludgefist, Stone Legion Generals, and Sire Denathrius.
The theme of the raid is vampire-lore inspired and it looks stunning and in line with what players have been seeing in the zone while leveling. The bosses drop amazing loot, as always, but you will have to do many runs to get all you need for your character. Sire is of course the hardest one of all, mostly because of the few different phases that are completely different and feel like multiple boss fights.
2. Sanctum of Domination
After spending hours and days in Torghast and The Maw fighting against the Jailor’s forces, the second raid instance in the expansion takes us to the very heart of the Tower of the Damned. The raid is located in the Desmotaeron area of The Maw.
Ten more bosses await inside and there are some familiar foes standing in your way. First up is The Terragrue, the beast that has been hunting you in the tower for months. The Eye of the Jailor is the second boss, the giant eye limiting your way and hunting you in The Maw. Then come The Nine, Remnant of Ner’zhul, Soulrender Dormazain, Painsmith Raznal, Guardian of the First Ones, and Fatescribe Roh-Kalo.
The ninth boss is Kel’Thuzad, the most famous of all liches, this being another time we as players fight him. Finally, it is Sylvanas Windrunner that caps off the raid as you chase her to the top of the raid for a climactic fight and an amazing end-raid cinematic scenario that sets up the next part of the story.
3. Sepulcher of the First Ones
The upcoming patch 9.2. will be the final one in Shadowlands and most players are fine with it. It has been one of those mid-tier expansions that will go down in history with a balanced amount of positives and negatives. All in all, players are ready for the ninth expansion but before that, the story of this one needs to wrap up and that means another raid. As all expansion-ending raids, this one will be the hardest because it pits players against the big bad of the whole thing, The Jailor himself, Zovaal. Before him, there are 9 other bosses to fight and defeat.
They include Vigilant Guardian, Skolex the Insatible Ravener, Artificer Xy’mox, Dausegne the Fallen Oracle, Prototype Pantheon, Lihuvim Principal Architech, Halondruhs the Reclaimer, Anduin Wrynn, Lords of Dread, and Rygelon.
Anduin is the lone familiar face out of the first nine bosses as the players try to turn him back to the good side after Zovaal used his skills to dominate him and make him his puppet. The raid will be located in the new zone, Zereth Mortis, and it is a truly promising encounter the players already need to start preparing for. Beginners have enough time to get the best gear possible and study the boss mechanics just in time the patch drops in a few months.
